A Sambalpuri sari is a conventional handwoven bandha (ikat) sari (privately called “sambalpuri bandha” sadhi or saree) wherein the twist and the weft are splash-colored prior to winding around. It is created in the Sambalpur, Balangir, Bargarh, Boudh and Sonepur locale of Odisha, India. The sari is a conventional female article of clothing in the Indian subcontinent comprising of a piece of unstitched material going from four to nine meters long that is hung over the body in different styles.
