Numerous stores selling applique work are located along Pipili’s main street. Visitors to Puri purchase these items from Pipili. It is well-known for its appliqué skill both in India and Odisha. Every single household in the community participated in the appliqué craft. The majority of the villagers rely on their ability to make appliques for their daily needs. Applique works of Pipili is also known as patching cloth design and in local language this handicraft is known as ‘Chandua’.
